COMMUNITY CHAT: GFG Alliance Community and Stakeholder Engagement Advisor Denise Sharp.

GFG Alliance has asked Council to pass a message regarding its community engagement program.

The following is their statement.

Community Chat Session Open Again

As part of GFG Alliance’s continued focus on the local community, its Community and Stakeholder
Engagement Advisor, Denise Sharp, is once again inviting Whyalla residents to touch base and pop in
for a chat.

Denise will again set up shop in the Whyalla Public Library, providing residents an opportunity to ask
questions, raise any concerns, and learn more about how the business is progressing.

“It was really pleasing to see a number of people take up the opportunity and drop in at the first
Community Chat held in June, so I am looking forward to meeting others at this next session,” Denise
said.

“One of our company values is family, which focuses on embracing all of our stakeholders – especially
those in the community – as members of our extended family, so the intent is to make these
community chat sessions a regular activity on the calendar.”

Denise said these Community Chat sessions provided yet another opportunity to build on GFG’s
relationships with the local community, as well an avenue for residents to engage with GFG and its
staff in a positive, casual setting.

“Without two‐way communication with our stakeholders, the business doesn’t have visibility of the
various views, questions or concerns that exist in the community, so it’s a key aspect of our continualimprovement
focus,” she said.

“Planning is underway to provide a calendar of dates for 2020 sessions, and I hope to include a range
of information resources that people can take away with them.

“These will help answer some of the general questions on topics such as dust, community support and
reporting of vandalism among others.”

The next session is to be held Wednesday, 30 October from 10.00am ‐ 3.00pm in the Whyalla Public
Library Training Room.

No appointments are necessary for the session, however residents can contact Denise on 0447 039
358 or email denise.sharp@gfgalliance.com if they would like to book a specific time.

Denise can also be contacted if residents have any feedback – both positive and negative – outside of
these sessions.
