SAFETY FIRST: High winds have closed the dump for general residential waste.
The City of Whyalla advises that the Mount Laura Waste & Resource Recovery Centre has been closed today (Thursday, September 19, 2019) due to high winds.
The winds have made the waste transfer facility unsafe for residential users.
The centre is still open for green waste and commercial operators.
Council apologises for the inconvenience but the safety of users and staff at the centre is paramount.
