CELEBRATION: Janejira holding her certificate with Mayor McLaughlin after the ceremony

Janejira “Jane” Piwngernyoung can now call herself an official Aussie after a recent citizenship ceremony with Mayor Clare McLaughlin.

Jane moved to Australia from Thailand six years ago after marrying her husband Justin who is from Whyalla.  Justin works at GFG Alliance at the Mill.

Jane studied in Thailand and furthered her studies after moving to Whyalla by completing a Certificate III in disability support and has been working as a disability support officer here in Whyalla for 15 months. She is also planning to study new avenues in the future.

Jane is in love with Whyalla and how quiet it is.

“Whyalla is very peaceful compared to the hustle and bustle of Thailand and the people here are very nice and welcoming,” Jane said.

“I am very happy living here in Whyalla.”
