Cleanaway has advised Council it will be catching up on the bins missed yesterday (Thursday, September 19) and cleaning up the bins that were blown over in the high wind.
The Mount Laura Waste and Resources Recovery Centre is also open as normal today after high winds closed the transfer station section yesterday.
With a couple of drivers down due to illness, Cleanaway was on the road until 8pm last night trying to collect as many bins as possible. With more crews back on board today, they will be backtracking to get those bins not collected yesterday, and cleaning up the bins blown over, before starting on the regular Friday pickups.
Crews will be working overtime tomorrow (Saturday, September 21) to pick up any bins they are unable to collect today.
Bin collection enquiries can be made to the Kerbside Enquiry Line: 1300 559 206
