THE theme for next year's Whyalla uneARTh Festival will be revealed at Monday's information session.

The 2019 Whyalla uneARTh Festival organising committee is inviting prospective performers, stall-holders and anyone else interested in finding out about the festival, to the information session at the Middleback Arts Centre on Monday, October 22.

Preparations for the third instalment of the award-winning festival are starting to ramp up with festival co-ordinator Cara Hume joining the organising committee. The information session is a chance for people to meet the organising committee and find out what is involved to be a part of next year’s event or just stay in the loop with what's happening.

Council Events and Tourism Development Officer, Rebecca Neilson said last year’s uneARTh Festival exceeded expectations in regards to the crowd, stall-holder turnover and the quality of the entertainment. The organising committee is now looking to take it up another notch but there are important considerations for entertainers and stall-holders.

ROARING TRADE: Stall-holders reported a sharp rise in business at last year's uneARTh Festival.

“Last year the stall-holders reported more turnover on the first day of the festival than they did over the two days of the first event in 2017,” Rebecca said.

“We had nearly 15,000 people turn up last year, another increase on the first year, so now is the time to find out what opportunities there will be to increase revenue as a stall-holder or showcase your talent at next year’s event.”

The uneARTh Festival is a collaboration with the Adelaide Fringe with selected acts coming from the Adelaide event to perform in Whyalla. Local performers are an equally important component of the Whyalla festival with the organising committee urging anyone with a talent, an ability or just something they think will entertain, to come along to the information session.

Likewise, the wide range of stalls at last year’s event made for an even greater festival atmosphere. The organising committee is encouraging businesses, community and sporting groups to come along and find out how they can maximise their products or raise money for their group at next year’s event.

The information session on Monday, October 22 starts at 6pm at the Middleback Arts Centre.
