There will be traffic restrictions on Thursday this week for the Whyalla High School's "Close the Gap Fun Run".
The school will be holding its run between the hours of 9.30am and 11am on Thursday, April 5. The fun run involves students from Whyalla High School and Aboriginal students from other schools throughout the city.
The fun run will start on the Whyalla High School Oval and progress to Beach Road, Neagle Terrace, through the Ada Ryan Gardens, Delprat Terrace, Queen Elizabeth Drive (Hummock Hill) and then return via the Foreshore Gardens back to Beach Road.
Queen Elizabeth Drive will be closed to traffic for the run. Traffic management signage will be utilised in all other areas of the route to increase safety for participants and a temporary speed limit of 25kmh will apply on all affected roads throughout the duration of the event.
All walkers will be sticking to the footpaths and are not permitted to walk on the road. The City of Whyalla asks all participants to abide by the regular pedestrian road rules and drivers to be especially careful during this event and at all times around schools.
A plan of the route is attached. Any questions in relation to this matter can be made to Shiree Daum on 8640 3444 or email council@whyalla.sa.gov.au.
