The City of Whyalla can help you promote your community event.
Through Council’s website, Facebook site, My Local Services app and a regular segments on local radio … we can help you get the message out about your event.
It starts by completing the easy “submit your community event” form on our website. You put all your details of the event, it includes a computer generated map and you can attach a poster too.
From there, your event goes on to our online calendar. This is like an online date planner as you can view all the community events happening for every month of the year. All the details of each event are available by simply clicking on it in the calendar.
From this entry on our calendar, your event will also be seen on our My Local Services app which has now been downloaded by more than 1000 people in Whyalla … with more and more people downloading it every day.
A click on the “events” button on the My Local Services app take you to a list of events that have been submitted using the “submit your community event” form. And once again, all the details of the event can be seen by simply clicking on it.

Your event will also be picked up by our tourism website, www.whyalla.com which puts together an events calendar.
From here your event will also get a mention on our regular spot with 5AU (1242 AM) on Thursday mornings. On his Brekky Show, announcer David Syer talks with a Council officer about 8.15am every week about what’s happening in Whyalla.
Council also has a regular spot on community station 5YYY where we talk about events happening in our town.

So there is just one simple form you need to fill out to tap into this extensive, free, network of promotion for your community, non-profit, event. You can find this form by following this link: http://www.whyalla.sa.gov.au/submitevent
