The Whyalla Marina will be temporarily closed to marine vessels this Sunday, March 4, 2018.
The marina will be closed between the hours of 7.30am and 10.30am for the Whyalla Swimming Club’s annual Open Water swim event.
To ensure the safety of the swimmers, no vessel will be permitted to leave, enter or operate within the marina between these hours.
The City of Whyalla actively promotes healthy activities and this swim carnival is an important event on the local club’s calendar. Council thanks all marine vessel owners in advance and appreciates the understanding that has been shown over past years for this event.
The Whyalla Swimming Club has been working closely with marina-based organization such as the Whyalla Yacht Club, Whyalla Boat Owners Association and Whyalla Sea Rescue Squadron to ensure the smooth running of this event.
