Motorists crossing the line to park on Council land

NO ENTRY: Boulders block a makeshift path into Council land with more to be placed on the front edge tomorrow.

The City of Whyalla is putting measures in place to ensure public safety regarding an area being used as a carpark next to Nicolson Avenue in Whyalla Norrie.

Council has received reports of motorists entering and leaving the council-owned land between the MADEC/Centrelink and the Department of Child Protection via a makeshift track from the Department of Child Protection carpark and also going over the Nicolson Avenue kerb and crossing the pedestrian footpath.

To maintain motorist and pedestrian safety, the makeshift track has been blocked with two large boulders. More boulders will be placed along the carpark boundary facing Nicolson Avenue tomorrow (Thursday, November 1) to prevent motorists from entering or exiting the land by going over the kerb from the road.
