Preparations underway for Hidden Music Festival

Preparations are underway at the Ada Ryan Gardens for Saturday's Hidden Music Festival.

Workers will commence putting up fencing today, in readiness for the DJ-driven music festival which  boasts a world-class list of performers including headline act Will Sparks.

It’s the first time Whyalla has hosted the Hidden Music Festival.

Other acts include Bombs Away, Brynny, Tyron Hapi, Seek N Destroy, Combo!, Fresh Death, Short Round and YROR?

City of Whyalla Tourism and Events Officer Rebecca Neilson said it was a major coup for Whyalla to attract this world-class festival.

“Whyalla has already proven it can host big events with the recent uneARTh Festival being a big success,” she said.

“Our beautiful Ada Ryan Gardens are an ideal venue for this sort of event. The event promoter is working closely with Council to ensure the gardens and patrons are well looked after.”

Ms Neilson said the Hidden Festival would be huge for music fans in Whyalla who wouldn’t normally get the chance to see these sort of acts and would be a big plus for our economy.

“Council is always keen to support and help these sort of events because they bring a lot of people to Whyalla and are a real economic boost for the city.

There will also be some road closures around the Ada Ryan Gardens in place on Saturday.
