Whyalla’s 2018 Cuttlefest continues tonight with a special movie screening at the Middleback Arts Centre.
There will be free entry for the screening of stunning marine documentary Blue the Film tonight (Wednesday July 4) from 7pm.
The highly acclaimed movie is being presented by the Inspiring SA Regional Science Hub and Natural Resources Eyre Peninsula. It is a marine conservation documentary film about the hidden crisis lapping on our shores.
Cuttlefest 2018 has also organised a panel of expert speakers, including Barngarla descendants, for a question and answer session after the film to show what you can do in your everyday life to help protect our blue heart, the ocean.
Greenpeace Australia had this to say about Blue The Film: “BLUE is a cinematic song for our oceans; beautiful, intimate and grand. Fearlessly truth-telling, yet passionately hopeful. See this film and you will want to rise up with the waves.”
Tonight will also premiere the Natural Resources Eyre Peninsula’s new short film on the Cowleds Landing santuary zone salt marshes.
The City of Whyalla is a proud major sponsor of Cuttlefest 2018. It is the inaugural festival celebrating the globally unique and wild Australian Giant Cuttlefish aggregation.
A series of four Cuttlefest family-friendly events are being made possible through a partnership between the Eyre Peninsula Natural Resources Management Board, Department for Environment and Water and Experiencing Marine Sanctuaries (EMS), with funding from the Whyalla City Council and support staff from Natural Resources Eyre Peninsula.
