The City of Whyalla has designated Ada Ryan Gardens, the foreshore and marina as alcohol-free areas today.

A reminder that the City of Whyalla has declared a designated dry area at Ada Ryan Gardens for today's Australia Day Celebrations to ensure it is a family-friendly event.

The designated area includes Ada Ryan Gardens, most of the foreshore and the marina precinct. It came into place at 12noon today (January 26) until midnight.

Council CEO Chris Cowley said the “dry area” was designed to ensure the gardens and foreshore were a safe and peaceful environment that the whole family can enjoy on Australia Day.

“We can’t think of anything better than having the foreshore, gardens and marina a family-friendly and alcohol-free area for Australia Day,” Mr Cowley said.

“With beautiful gardens and a wonderful foreshore, we want to see as many families as possible having picnics, enjoying the playground and enjoying Australia Day in an alcohol-free environment.”
