SAFE: The section of road on Nicolson Avenue that was repaired after a water leak.

The City of Whyalla is asking motorists to obey the speed limit along Nicolson Avenue where a water main leak has created a slight dip in an area of the westbound lane, west of the Westland Shopping Centre roundabout.

SA Water and Council crews have repaired the leak and applied a temporary seal to the road.

To align with a wider program of council road repairs and the need for specialist contractors, final reinstatement will be done in the New Year.

Council advises that the road structure is sound in the area of the dip and motorists obeying the speed limit are in no danger.

Council thanks the community and motorists for their patience.
