A public consultation meeting on the 2018-19 Draft Business Plan and Budget has been held

This week’s City of Whyalla public consultation meeting on the 2018-19 Draft Business Plan and Budget has been described as ‘positive and informative’.

Council CEO Chris Cowley hosted the public meeting on Wednesday night (June 13) where eight members of the public attended and heard an outline of the draft business plan and budget. Those attending were then invited to ask questions.

The public had also been invited to speak on behalf of their submissions but no submissions had been received before the meeting. Three questions had been officially lodged and were answered.

“The meeting was very positive and it was an informative discussion after we outlined the draft business plan and budget,” Chris said.

“We had some good questions and good discussions on the draft plans.

“I think the people that attended got something out of it along with a better understanding of the draft plan and budget and what goes into preparing this document.

“I’d like to thank the people that came along for attending and participating in the consultation process.”

Notes from public meeting have been included in the agenda for the ordinary Council meeting on Monday, June 18.

Submissions and questions on the draft plan and budget can be submitted until June 19 with an online form or via email council@whyalla.sa.gov.au and also at the Civic Building front counter.

The 2018-19 Draft Annual Business Plan and Budget documents can be viewed online at http://www.whyalla.sa.gov.au/page.aspx?u=1258 where the online submission form is also attached. The documents and submission form are also available from the front counter of the Civic Building offices on Darling Terrace.

A special Council meeting has been scheduled for Monday, June 25 to adopt the 2018-19 Business Plan and Budget.
