YWCA Adelaide is looking for people or organisations in Whyalla to help prevent violence against women.
The YWCA has received funding for its Equipping Regional Communities to Prevent Violence Against Women Project as part of the South Australian Attorney-General Departments Crime Prevention and Community Safety Grants Program.
The project will expand on YWCA Adelaide’s award-winning work in violence prevention, by expanding its Bystander Intervention Workshops into regional communities including the South East, Iron Triangle and Eyre Peninsula.
As part of this project, it is offering free Bystander Intervention workshops to regional communities.
YWCA’s Bystander Intervention workshops educate men, women and young people about positive intervention strategies to foster safe workplaces, schools and communities.
These workshops enable workplaces, schools and community members to contribute to the prevention of violence against women and gender inequality.
The YWCA is now looking for expressions of interest in the project and to begin conversation around how these workshops can cater and respond to the specific needs of your community, workplace or school.
If you are interested in hosting a workshop or finding out more information, YWCA would love to hear from you.
