IT’S official … Whyalla kids still like to climb and swing the most when they visit our playgrounds.
While there's a multitude of new and exciting playground equipment options available these days, the basic principles still apply to kids it appears … they like to climb and swing.
The City of Whyalla put the question to residents last month in a series of surveys for the Field Street, Travers Street and Point Lowly playgrounds as to what they’d like, what they like and suggestions on those playgrounds.
Nearly 100 residents responded to the surveys which will give council a guide to which sort of equipment it should buy in the near future for these three playgrounds. There were lots of great comments and suggestions too on the playgrounds that council will take into consideration when further developing these areas.
We gave residents several options of new equipment to choose from and the overall winner was the Genesis Medium (right), a brilliant climbing structure that has proven popular in many other playgrounds. Running a close second was the exciting Sky Surf (video below) which covers the swinging aspect too.
Now that we’ve found out what you want at Field and Travers streets and Pt Lowly, it’s time for you to have your say on what sort of equipment you’d like at Ada Ryan Gardens.
Council would like to get some major pieces of equipment into Ada Ryan Gardens and you can help decide what they could be.
Simply go to the survey http://bit.ly/2zQWTle and have your say. It is completely anonymous with no personal details recorded. You have until Friday, November 10, 2017.
