A new event has been unearthed in Whyalla and it promises to be the complete community occasion.
The event is called Unearth Your Trash and Treasure and is planned for Saturday, October 28 at Civic Park. The idea of local resident Rae Evans, Unearth Your Trash and Treasure will be an afternoon of trash and treasure stalls, markets, entertainment and activities for the kids.
Unearth Your Trash and Treasure will have a wide range of art and craft markets but will also encourage people to come along and set up their own stall to sell unwanted goods like a regular trash and treasure market or a car boot sale.
There will also be free entertainment, with musicians Emily and Colby already booked, along with car displays, children’s rides, clowns, characters like Elmo and other attractions.
“We’ve come up with an idea that will appeal to even more people in the community, there should be something for everyone there,” Rae said.
“This event will have lots of community involvement and entertainment for the whole family.
“We’ve got Emily and Colby to perform on the day and we are still looking for more entertainers, especially local entertainers.”
The Unearth Your Trash and Treasure event will start at midday and go through until 8.30pm.
The annual Light the Night march will run on the same day from Civic Park. The fundraiser for Leukaemia was held at the foreshore last year but will now run from Civic Park to allow more people to enjoy the entertainment and attractions of the new Unearth Your Trash and Treasure event.
