It was all about teddy bears at the library pre-school sessions recently.

The children read a story by Jonathan Bentley called “Is Bear Here?” about a little boy who had lost his beloved teddy bear and then sang songs about bears and did lots of growling.

The children then made their own bears doing some great cutting, colouring and gluing. They attached the bears arm and legs with split pins so that the bears were movable.

Pre-School Story Time is a program for 2-5-year-olds to share stories, songs and craft activities. Parents are caregivers are welcome to assist as their child develops a love of books and participates in fun activities in the supportive environment of the library.

Each week there is a different theme for the story and the activity and sometimes there’s even a special visitor.

There is also a toy library at the far end of the children’s library for those that want to stay on a bit longer. There is a wide range of toys, games, musical instruments and kits catering for the early learning, recreational and development needs of pre-school children.

You can also borrow two items for two weeks.

The sessions last about 45 minutes and they are held during the school terms on Wednesday and Thursday 10.30am and also 2pm on Thursday.

For more information, give the library a call on 8645 7891.
