Council to host information session to outline opportunities for uneARTh Festival

Stall holders and performers interested in participating in Whyalla City Council’s inaugural uneARTh Festival at Easter are being invited to attend an information session on Thursday, February 2.

uneARTh Festival will be a two day event running over the Easter Long Weekend, combining three major events into two days of fun and festivities.

Interested performers and stall holders are invited to attend the information session to be held at the Whyalla City Council chambers on Darling Terrace at 6pm on Thursday, February 2.

The council is working closely with the Adelaide Fringe Festival to bring an exciting lineup of renowned performers to Whyalla for this exciting event, and is now seeking applications from local performers possessing talent in the form of singers, musicians, dancers, entertainers, or anything else that can draw a crowd.

Local performers will be required to perform on Saturday, April 15.

Performers from around the region are also invited to apply to be part of the festivities, with the council approaching artists and groups from neighbouring cities such as Port Augusta, Port Pirie and Port Lincoln.

The council is also seeking expressions of interest from stall holders that would like to participate in the weekend, with opportunities to set up a stall within the Ada Ryan Gardens for the two days of the festival.

Whyalla mayor Lyn Breuer uneARTh Festival provided an opportunity for local people to get involved and showcase their talents in a variety of ways.

“Whether you’re a singer, dancer, comedian, artist or are in the business of making and selling items, there is an opportunity to showcase your special passion at this exciting new event,” Ms Breuer said.

“If you’ve been thinking about getting involved in the council’s event, then the upcoming information session is a great opportunity for you to find out what we will expect from you, and what you can do to be involved.”

Performers or potential stall holders wishing to register their interest should complete an application form, which is available on the council’s website at www.whyalla.sa.gov.au/uneARThfestival

Applications for performers close at 5pm on Friday, February 17, 2017 and can be emailed to: Rebecca.neilson@whyalla.sa.gov.au or hand delivered to the council’s civic building on Darling Terrace.

Stall holder applications will remain open for an extended period of time, with information about closing dates to be issued at a later date.

Event organisers will undertake a review process of all applications to determine the suitability of each applicant.
