Thanks Whyalla for noticing our hard-working people out there in the community.
The City of Whyalla outdoor work crews do the hard yards in the cold, hot, wet and windy. They don’t often get much thanks so when they do, we’d like to recognise it and let you know our outdoor council workers really do appreciate the positive feedback.
They are just like us all. They are members of the community and they are working for the community, quite often going above and beyond.
Local pet owner Brenda contacted us about some caltrop weed in the dog park. Our parks and gardens people promptly tracked it down and dealt with it, much to the appreciation of Brenda and her puppies.
Local resident Denis wrote to us this month to thank us for the three-day turnaround in his request for a tree to be cut back from his driveway.
He rang on Tuesday and the job was done on Friday.
Kate and her little boy love our Ada Ryan Gardens and are delighted by the aviary and the birds down there.
She wrote to us to pay a compliment to our workers on how green and beautiful the gardens are while also marvelling at the work of the three council workers she met down there who were busily keeping the aviaries clean.
Our outdoor crews don’t go fishing for thanks but when it does come our way … it makes a sometimes tough job all the more easier.
Thanks again and thanks to those crews.
