Sponsors support 25th anniversary of Snapper Championship and Family Festival
Event organisers of the 25th Australian Snapper Championship and Family Festival have been overwhelmed by the generosity and support received from local businesses.
Preparations for this year’s event are in full swing, and event organisers are now able to announce the many generous sponsors who have agreed to come on board and support the important event.
A number of the sponsors for this year’s snapper championship are long-time supporters of the event.
Whyalla City Council is extending a heart-felt ‘thank you’ to all of its 2016 sponsors and partners of the special anniversary event.
Whyalla City Council tourism events coordinator Suzy Kettle said she was very excited to have so many great local businesses involved in this year’s snapper championship and family festival.
“Without the support and generosity of these great businesses, the event would not be possible,” Miss Kettle said.
“This is an important and very exciting event for the Whyalla community, and the council is very pleased that so many local businesses have shown their support for the event by providing sponsorship.”
Spot On Sportfishing Whyalla, in partnership with Shimano, have again come on as major sponsors of the event.
Other major sponsors include: QantasLink, Southern Cross Austereo, Classic Hits 5AU/Magic FM, Whyalla Mount Laura Lions Club, Regional Express (REX), WDD Office Choice, Whyalla News, Cleanaway, Coates Hire, Scholz Transport Services, Fishing SA Magazine, OZ Minerals, Eddie Hughes MP, Fishing World Magazine, Des’s, Westland Shopping Centre, Harry’s Camping Supplies, McDonalds Whyalla and Signarama Whyalla.
“A special thanks goes out to the Spot On Sportfishing Whyalla family, Pauline, David and Wes Jones for their commitment and dedication to this event over the past 11 years, since first coming on board in 2005,” Miss Kettle said.
As the event draws closer, organisers are encouraging locals to get in quick and book accommodation for friends and family who are attending the event.
“When booking accommodation for friends and family around the Easter period be sure to book with one of our accommodation partners, Whyalla Caravan Park or Discovery Holiday Parks Whyalla Foreshore for some great rates and specials,” Miss Kettle said.
Whyalla Caravan Park is offering competitors the chance to win back their stay to the value of $400.
