Santos launches sea-life fancy dress competition

An impressive new addition to the Family Festival has event organisers very excited.

Preparations for the 25th Australian Snapper Championship and Family Festival are well underway, and excited to announce that new sponsor Santos will be supporting a fancy dress competition at the Family Festival, being run as part of the 25th anniversary celebrations.

Children and adults alike are being encouraged to get busy with the crafts and come dressed as their favourite sea-life character for their chance to win some awesome prizes.

Event coordinator Suzy Kettle said the fancy dress competition would provide attendees the opportunity to get into the sea-life spirit and celebrate the 25th anniversary event in style.

“Whether you decide to dress up as the Little Mermaid, a dolphin, surfer-dude, your favourite fisherman, Finding Nemo, a sea-horse or as one of our own cuttlefish, it’s all accepted,” Miss Kettle said.

“Everyone is welcome to enter, whether it be the kids or their grandparents, we’re looking forward to seeing what kinds of costumes people can come up with, so be sure to get creative.”

Prizes will be awarded for the best costume as determined by the judges as well as a prize for the runner-up.

Competitors will be asked to take part in a special sea-life parade by the main stage on Sunday, March 27, with winners announced shortly after.
