Get up close and personal with one of Australia’s greatest soccer champions
An exciting opportunity to get up close and personal with some of Australia’s best soccer players is kicking off an exciting soccer event.
A sportsman’s night will kick off this year’s Football Federation South Australia Regional Round in Whyalla, with a clash between Adelaide Comets and Adelaide City on Saturday, March 19.
The sportsman’s night will feature North Eastern MetroStars Soccer Club player, former Socceroo and Fox Sports presenter Travis Dodd in a Q and A event at an official dinner.
The dinner event will be held at Steel United Soccer Club from 6pm on Friday, March 18, and will include a three course meal by Head Catering, and the opportunity to get up close and personal with Dodd, as well as officials from FFSA.
Dodd, who currently plays for the North Eastern MetroStars Soccer Club, boasts an impressive career, having played at state, national and international levels, and was the first indigenous Australian player to score a goal for the Socceroos.
Dodd was also the first Australian player to score a hat-trick in the Asian champions League, scoring all three goals in a 3-0 win against Vietnamese side Dog Tam Long An.
STARCLUB sport and recreational field officer Alberto Salatino said the sportsman’s night provided sporting fans and budding soccer players with the opportunity to receive answers to the questions they’ve always had.
“This is a very unique opportunity to get up close and personal with one of Australia’s greatest soccer players,” Mr Salatino said.
“Travis Dodd is a fantastic player who has had a very impressive career, and will be able to provide some wonderful insight into the life of a soccer champion.”
Tickets to the dinner are available from tiny.cc/ffsasportsman, and Whyalla City Council’s civic building for $50 for adults, and $15 for children,, which includes a two course meal, and the opportunity to interact directly with Dodd and FFSA officials.
Ticket sales will close on Tuesday, March 15.
