Ballot positions finalised for supplementary mayoral election
Seven nominations have been received for the supplementary election for the position of Whyalla City Council’s mayor.
Nominations closed at 12pm on Thursday, July 7, with ballot positions drawn at 4pm on the same day.
The candidates in order of position on the ballot paper are:
Lyn Breuer
Joanne Marshall
Jack Velthuizen
Tom Antonio
Robert Schmitz
Jenny Barnes
David Knox
Voting material will be forwarded to electors by post between Tuesday 19 July 2016 and Monday 25 July 2016. To be accepted, ballot papers must be completed and returned to reach the Returning Officer by no later than 12 noon Monday 8 August 2016.
Current elected members that have nominated will retain their seat on the council if they are unsuccessful in their nomination.
The next ordinary Local Government election is scheduled for November 2018.
