Poles apART - Stobie Pole Art

Poles apART

The Whyalla City Council understands the benefits of public art and is committed to the development of public art that enhances the landscape throughout the neighbourhoods, retail centres, civic places and green spaces across the City. People enjoy spending time in vibrant and culturally attractive public places. Opportunities for creative contributions from community groups and individuals in the form of community and public art installations are encouraged because they add to our city’s ‘sense of place’ and ‘story telling’.

The Whyalla City Council encourages creative opportunities for individuals and community groups where they look to express this creativity on stobie poles. This application process ensures that relevant stakeholders within proximity of the stobie poles are consulted with and that the proposed artwork is both safe and reflective of the City of Whyalla and community values.
