Whyalla City Council runs a school program each year for year 8, 10, and 11 students. All vaccines are administrated by registered nurses. Electronic records are kept with Whyalla City Council (from 1999) and a copy of student record is sent home with the student for parents to keep.

Whyalla City Council will be delivering the Meningococcal B Vaccination Herd Study for school leavers in 2019. Students who were enrolled and attended a South Australian High School in 2018 (age 17-25 years) are eligible.

For year 8, the following vaccines will be offered:

HPV (Gardisil) - 13 to 14 years – 2 dose program
Tetanus (Boostrix) - 13 to 14 years – 1 dose program

For year 10, the following vaccines will be offered:

Meningococcal B - 15 to 17 years – 2 dose program
Meningococcal ACWY - 15 to 17 years – 1 dose program

For year 11, the following vaccines will be offered:

Meningococcal B - 15 to 17 years – 2 dose program
