Youth Week 2024 wrap up

SA Youth Week wrapped up for 2024 on Sunday, with plenty of fun, energy, and new connections. This year included four events in Whyalla to celebrate young people aged 12-25.

Celebrations kicked off on Saturday 16 March, with the community attending Pictures in your Park, the event included FREE popcorn and Super Mario Bros on the inflatable big screen. Accessible fishing was next with a group fishing off Whyalla’s circular jetty, followed by a FREE sausage sizzle. 360 ALLSTARS followed shortly after, in conjunction with Plaza Youth Centre, Council and the Rec Centre, where a member of 360 ALLSTARS held a basketball freestyling workshop. Last but not least, D’Faces held the Wearable Art workshop – tote bags and t-shirts were up for grabs and featured many different designs and creations!

Youth Activation Officer, Chloe Fisher said ''it was great to see so many community members participating in the events. A special thanks to Mission Australia, Headspace and SAPOL for joining in and support Youth Week''.

Council would like to say thank you to everyone who hosted or attended an activity – we hope everyone enjoyed it as much as we did!
