The Whyalla community continues to help local singers Shakira Lea and Jaylee Daniels as they gain even more exposure for their songs I Miss You and Papa's Song.

Last month the Whyalla Recording Scholarship (WRS) winners released their debut music videos of their debut singles with the proud Whyalla productions already generating thousands of Views on YouTube.

WRS is a philanthropic initiative funded by Alison Hams and Mark Tempany (Stormfront Productions). In June 2019 the project attracted a $1000 sponsorship from the Rotary Club Of Whyalla.

"Earlier this year I Miss You reached Number 18, and Papa's Song Number 7 on the Australian iTunes Country Chart - and now these music videos showcase our Region's amazing colours and scenery to the world," Alison said.

I Miss You is dedicated to anyone who's experienced loss, and found a way to heal. This power ballad showcases Shakira Lea's emotive vocals and sincere message. Papa's Song is a toe-tapping Bluegrass dedication to Jaylee's late grandfather Rusty and the love of Country music he endeared to her and her family.

The Whyalla Recording Scholarship (WRS) was launched in August 2016 by Whyalla's Stormfront Productions. They provide the opportunity and resources for young Regionally-based original musicians, aged 12 to 21, to audition for and "Expand their Horizons" to win a professional recording studio package worth more than $10,000.
