Small Walls Murals Project

6 May 2024

The Whyalla City Council invites talented artists to participate in a new public art initiative that aims to bring vibrant murals to our city. The project seeks to transform buildings, fences, brick walls, and alley entrances into stunning works of art! Owners of unique structures and locations are also encouraged to participate.

Community Activation Arts & Cultural Facilitator, Teresa Coles is encouraging community creatives to get involved in this project ‘’This is a great way to showcase talented artists, as well as making our city more vibrant and colourful. If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, I encourage you to reach out!’’

Artists selected for this project will receive funding ranging from $5,000 to $10,000 for their artworks. Each artist will receive 50% of the funding upfront to cover materials and fees, with the remaining 50% paid upon completion of the murals.

A full project brief and Expression of Interest submission form are available below for those interested in being part of this project. Submissions must be completed and sent by Sunday, 12th May, at 11:59 pm.

The final designs will be approved by the council to ensure alignment with the community’s vision and values.
