Published 6th August 2020
Council's three-year road sealing program continues to roll out

An opportunity has presented to deliver approximately 50% of this years’ road works commencing on 10th August for two to three weeks.  This is based on all pre-work for these roads being complete.

Boral will be advising residents via letterbox notification during this week.

The balance of the road sealing program is currently envisaged to be undertaken in November 2020 dependent on the availability of Boral at that time, and based on satisfactory completion of all pre-works.

The pre-works scheduled to be completed before any road seal is placed include:

  • Kerbing replacement or repairs for those nominated roads
  • Any underground services installations required (ie water, gas mains, sewer and stormwater works)
  • Tree pruning and tree maintenance ahead of road sealing
  • Any footpath remediation works deemed necessary including pram ramp upgrades to comply with current standards and public safety (ie tactile ramp installations)

The community should note that the following list of roads scheduled for later this year will include all the above pre-work activities:

Note that there will be additional preparation works undertaken for the second part of this years’ program particularly on Essington Lewis Avenue from Elliot Street to McBryde Tce, where storm water infrastructure and on street parking issues are to be reviewed ahead of a sealing program.

Council welcomes any community comments and views in relation to these proposed future works.  Enquiries on roadworks can be made to Council on 8640 3444 or via our customer request form https://www.whyalla.sa.gov.au/council/contact-us.
