Contractors have replaced all existing light fittings along Buttlingarra Way and the Marina carparks with long life LED fittings that improve lighting and reduce power consumption.

Further lighting upgrade works are set to commence this coming Monday 29 June within the Marina carparks.

This further upgrade work is expected to take close to a week and will involve the installation of new lighting poles and LED fittings.

This includes trenching works for electrical infrastructure and excavation works for lighting pole footings.

A local contractor is carrying out these works and the areas will be bunted off to ensure safety.

Whilst inconvenience to the community will be minimised wherever possible, it is inevitable that there will be some impacts whilst accessing the carpark areas during the period of works.

Council asks the community to be patient and remember to follow any signage and directions of staff on site.

Once this work is complete the lighting levels in each of the carparks will meet current Australian standards.

Council has programmed this work to be undertaken in winter months and the improved lighting should make summer nights safer and easier for boat users.
