Register of Released Confidential Orders

Section 90 of the Local Government Act 1999 (SA) (the Act) makes provision for when a Council or Committee may order that the public be excluded from attendance at a meeting. This is for the purposes of receiving, discussing or considering in confidence information relevant to section 90(3) of the Act.

The Council or Committee may also order that some or all of the documents associated with the item also be kept confidential. The Council or Committee must then also specify the duration of the suppression, the circumstances in which the order will cease to apply, or a period after which the order must be reviewed.

In accordance with section 91(9) of the Act, any order that operates for a period exceeding 12 months must be reviewed at least once in every year. This review is undertaken in February each year.

In addition, some items are released outside of this review process under Chief Executive Officer delegation.

This Register of Released Confidential Orders is a listing of all the items that council has released from confidence.
