Whyalla City Council Meetings Go Virtual
Virtual meetings and events have become mainstream in recent times, with Whyalla City Council meetings now also set to be held virtually and livestreamed for the community.
With COVID-19 cases in our community rising and the need to reduce the potential risk of transmission, all ordinary council meetings and Elected Member briefings will be conducted via Microsoft Teams until further notice, with the general public provided a link to join as a guest.
Meetings will also be recorded, with the recording made available via the Whyalla City Council website.
As with face-to-face meetings, members of the gallery are not permitted to speak (as per Local Government Meeting Regulations), so cameras and microphones will be disabled for those joining as guests. Also as per regulations, confidential items will be discussed outside of the public meeting and will not be recorded.
The Microsoft Teams link for the meetings will be made available on the agenda papers via the website and posted on the Whyalla City Council Facebook Page.
For anyone without access to a computer or the internet, you can visit our library facility, where our friendly staff can assist you in viewing the online recording and / or minutes from the meeting (several days after the meeting has taken place).
You will need to be a library member to access this facility and will also need to book the computer service (due to COVID restrictions). If you are not already a library member, our staff can easily arrange this for you.
We look forward to seeing you online!
