Whyalla City Council is continuing its unsealed roads program, aiming to improve road safety in local tourist locations.
The program is currently focusing on areas near Point Lowly and Douglas Point, starting this week with re-sheeting and widening of 150 metres of Cuttlefish Drive, starting at the southern entrance.
Following the completion of this section, works will move to Gulf View Drive, where about one kilometre of road will be re-sheeted, starting from the sealed section behind Douglas Point and heading towards Whyalla.
Changed road conditions and mobile equipment will be in place throughout the works, so motorists are urged to slow down and be aware of the conditions.
Work is expected to be ongoing across the next eight weeks.
These works are in preparation for possible road sealing programs, dependent upon future annual business plan priorities.
