Thanking our amazing volunteers

“Whyalla wouldn’t be the same without volunteers.”

Those were the words of Mayor Phill Stone, as he recognised the hundreds of people throughout the community who give their time to make Whyalla a more vibrant city in which to live.

As part of National Volunteer Week, Mayor Stone praised the work of not only Council’s volunteers, but all those who volunteer their time in service to the community.

“On behalf of Council, I’d like to personally thank all of Whyalla’s volunteers for the difference they make to our community,” Mayor Stone said.

“There are countless opportunities across the city that require volunteer assistance, so volunteers play a critical role in helping deliver a wide range of services and opportunities to the community.

“I also implore others to consider stepping up to volunteer for their community, as it’s critical we have the next generation coming through to keep our city’s many volunteer services thriving.”

Council is seeking more volunteers to help continually improve its service to the community. To find out how you can get involved, head to https://www.whyalla.sa.gov.au/council/careers/volunteering-with-council, or phone 8640 3444.
