Whyalla Council continues to receive regular reports from residents, teachers, parents and students regarding illegal parking around schools, particularly at school drop off and pick up times.
Council’s parking inspector conducts ad hoc patrols around schools on a regular basis. Although these patrols provide a visual deterrent at the time , they do not provide a solution to the actual problem of vehicles illegally parking.
It is ultimately the drivers responsibility to take extra care around schools and ensure all road rules are followed for the safety of all children, parents, teachers and general residents.
This flyer is to remind parents and caregivers of their responsibility to adhere to general parking rules and parking signs that are in place around schools.
