And there's more good news about recycling - no sorting!

One of the immediate benefits of the new two-bin system will be the ability to place all recyclable materials in the one container.

The three bin system has now been up and running for the last two years, residents have embraced the changes, an 82% participation rate is being achieved, much better than the bag system which had a 17% participation rate!


Here are some useful tips that will assist the contractor empty rubbish and recycling bins in a safe and efficient manner:

  1. When your bins are placed at the kerbside make sure there is one-metre between your recycling and rubbish bins as shown in the photo.
  2. Do not place bins under trees that have overhanging branches.
  3. Make sure that the wheels are facing your property.
  4. Do not overfill. Overfull or excessively heavy bins may not be emptied.
