Maritime Museum and Whyalla Public Library events

If you’re looking for something to do over the school holidays … the Maritime Museum and Whyalla Public Library have a couple of ideas.

The Museum is holding Trains on the Track during these April school holidays. With free entry to the Maritime Museum for children in family groups, Trains on the Track is a fun fact-hunting game that includes an interactive track for the little ones. All participants will leave with some goodies.

And, of course, you can check out the amazing model train display at the museum or even take a tour of the HMAS Whyalla.

The Maritime Museum is open 10am to 4pm every day on Lincoln Highway. For more information give the wonderful staff a call on 8645 7900.

The library is hosting an amazing children’s puppet show called Pico Under the Coral Sea on April 26 at 3.30pm.

Pico is a world traveller on route to a small island in the middle of the ocean to deliver a special package to Jacques, a deep-sea adventurer. The journey takes a twist when Pico arrives and we learn lots about the sea and the reef in this entertaining story.

The event is for children aged between 3 and 10 years with a limited number of tickets at just $5. Call the wonderful staff at the library on 8645 7891 to book.

And, of course, the library has heaps of books and fun stuff for kids every day of the week during the school holidays. The library is open Monday to Friday from 10am-5pm, Saturday 9am to 1pm and Sunday 1pm to 5pm on Ekblom Street. It is closed on public holidays.
