Youth Week activities

“There will be something for everyone,” said Whyalla City Council Youth Development Officer, Gail Rostig.

“This is our biggest ever event and it should be a lot of fun. We are really excited about it,” she said.

The theme of this year’s activities is Your future – your way. 99 events have been scheduled across the state. Youth Week is the largest annual event on the youth calendar. The week aims to showcase young peoples’ talents, contributions and achievements and promotes a positive image of young people.

Funding for the week was received by the Office for Youth and some contributions by the local office of Housing SA.

“The theme Your future – your way, highlights young people’s role in shaping their lives and communities,” said Ms Rostig.

A performance by young people involved in the YAC Youth Music Mentor Program will also form part of Youth Week.

The performance will be held at the Left Hand Club, Dick Street, Whyalla on Saturday April 21 at 7pm.
