Come and Share a Plate to celebrate Every Generation

Residents young and old and from varying cultural backgrounds are being encouraged to come along to the Middleback Arts Centre on Wednesday, October 19 to Share a Plate for the Every Generation Festival.

Share a Plate will be held at the Middleback Arts Centre on Wednesday, October 19 from 10am until 12pm, and will provide community members from all generations and cultural backgrounds an opportunity to network, while celebrating the many different generations that make up the Whyalla community.

Whyalla mayor Lyn Breuer said the Every Generation Festival was a wonderful way to celebrate the many different people that made up the Whyalla community.

“Whyalla is home to people from many different cultures and backgrounds, making up many different generations,” Ms Breuer said.

“Every Whyalla resident plays a part in making up our community, and it is the many different cultures and backgrounds of our residents that make Whyalla such a unique place.

“My generation has experienced a very different lifestyle to the generation of our young people today, so I am excited that we are able to celebrate a festival that brings together the many different generations and cultures that make up our community.

“This event encourages our residents to come along and enjoy a lovely day out, whether you come along with a group of friends of come by yourself to meet new people, Share a Plate will be a wonderful event.”

Share a Plate is a free event, and is open to all members of the community, young and old; attendees are simply asked to bring a plate of food to share.

The Every Generation Festival runs from October 15 to October 28 in Adelaide, and the Share a Plate event is Whyalla’s way of joining in the celebration.

Coffee and refreshments will be provided, attendees are simply asked to bring along a plate of food to share.
