Keen anglers encouraged to take advantage of early bird discounts

Anglers keen to drop a line during the 25th Australian Snapper Championship are being encouraged to get their entries in soon to take advantage of the early bird discounts.

Entries for the annual championship opened on January 4, and organisers have already received a number of applications.

Event coordinator Suzy Kettle said the 25th anniversary of the Australian Snapper Championship, to be held over the Easter long weekend on March 25, 26 and 27, was ramping up to be a spectacular event, with plenty of impressive prizes up for grabs.

“The snapper championship is just around the corner, and we want to encourage everyone to get their entries in as early as possible to take advantage of the great discount for early bird entries, which close on Friday, February 26,” Miss Kettle said.

“Get the kids out fishing with cheap tickets for junior competitors and take advantage of the early bird discounts while you can.”

Entries can be lodged online at the official Australian Snapper Championship website, www.australiansnapper.com.au

Printed entry forms are available at the Whyalla City Council’s civic building on Darling Terrace or can be downloaded from the website.

Keen anglers are encouraged to stay up-to-date with what’s coming up at the competition by ‘liking’ the Whyalla Snapper Championship on Facebook and following the event on Instagram.

“This year’s event is going to be better than ever before, and we are looking forward to bringing you another enjoyable Easter long weekend at the magnificent Whyalla Foreshore,” Miss Kettle said.

“We’d also like to extend a big ‘thank you’ to all of our 2016 sponsors and major partners, Spot On Sportfishing Whyalla and Shimano, for helping us deliver such an exciting event for the community.”
