Alteration alleviates marina interruptions

jettysite

NEW CONSTRUCTION AREA: The site has been extended to allow for removal of the old jetty and delivery of the new one.

Wednesday, October 9, 2019

The City of Whyalla and Maritime Constructions advise that there has been a change to the construction site for the new jetty.

A planned loading area near the marina moorings (closer to the yacht club) will no longer be used. In a change that will alleviate disruption to the marina, the existing construction site area will be extended towards the boat ramp (see map above).

The diagonal end section of the southern floating pontoon will be temporarily removed to allow an area on the small beach (to the south of the boat ramp) to be used for the removal of the old jetty material and loading of material for the new jetty.

The boat ramp will remain open at all times but there will be restrictions on the southern pontoon and in the water near the pontoon while work is being conducted in this area.

Boaties and pedestrians are asked to obey all signage and instructions from contractors at all times for the safety of all involved.
