Paul Culliver will be at the rec centre

The ABC’s Breakfast with Paul Culliver will be broadcasting live from the Whyalla Recreation Centre tomorrow.

It is a big finale of the ABC regional Foodbank Winter Appeal that is collecting long-life food and goods for those less fortunate. Paul will be presenting his AM639 ABC North and West breakfast show at the rec centre from 6.30am to 10am (Wednesday, July 10) and is asking people to come down and donate in the ABC’s purple Foodbank bin.

When they found out the ABC needed a venue for its outside broadcast, the staff at the Whyalla Recreation on Racecourse Road didn’t hesitate to step in for this great cause. Staff of the rec centre are on board at 5.30am every morning making it a perfect venue for the ABC breakfast show that kicks off at 6.30am.

“This is part of a big ABC regional effort to help out,” Paul said.

“We’d like to thank the rec centre and the Whyalla Council for lending a hand with this appeal.

“Bring your cans of food, tuna, rice, cereal and sandwich spreads for this great appeal and while you are here, you could have a look around at what the rec centre has to offer.”

Foodbank welcomes all non-perishable pantry items that are in-date along with personal hygiene and household items.

Foodbank is Australia’s largest food relief organisation, operating on a scale that makes it crucial to the work of the front line charities who are feeding vulnerable Australians. Foodbank provides more than 70% of the food rescued for food relief organisations nation-wide.

Paul Culliver is a popular presenter on the ABC morning show as he combines his cheer and wit with a mix of hard-hitting political interviews and stories from around the region every morning.
