The City of Whyalla has prepared a Representation Review Report with public comments welcomed for the next three weeks.

Section 12(A) of the Local Government Act 1999 (the Act) requires each Council to undertake a review of all aspects of its composition and the division (or potential division) of the Council area into wards with the view to determining whether the local community will benefit from an alteration to Council's composition and/or structure.

The City of Whyalla last completed an "elector representation review" in November 2009 and is required to undertake and complate another review by October 2017, in accordance with the provisions of the Local Government (General) Regulations 1999, so as to ensure fair and equitable representations of all electors prior to the 2018 Local Government elections.

The attached report has been prepared in accordance with the requirements of Section 12(8a) of the Act.

A second round of community consultation is now open regarding the report. Written submissions can be made to until close of business on Tuesday, October 3, 2017.
