Whyalla Child Care Centre

We provide a unique and diverse educational program with nutritious snacks and meals that are prepared on site. We are available for your child care needs Monday to Friday from 7:45am to 5:45pm, 50 weeks of the year; except Public Holidays. We have full time, sessional and hourly care available.

The Whyalla Child Care Centre is a 68 place community based centre which cares for children from birth, until they start school (8 years during school holidays).

Parent Handbook

The Whyalla Child Care Centre has a parent handbook which explains Centre operations in more detail. The handbook contains a copy of the Centre’s philosophy, information on the services we offer including meals, and the National Quality Standards to which the Centre has to adhere to. Who can attend & how much does it cost?

The Whyalla Child Care Centre is a 68 place community based centre which cares for children from 6 weeks to 5 years old (8 years during school holidays). We are licensed in accordance with the Children's Services Act and there are two play areas within the centre:

  • 0 - 2 years licensed for 18 children
  • 2 - 5 years licensed for 50 children

The centre is open Monday to Friday from 7:45am to 5:45pm and also offer a variety of sessions daily.

Morning sessions:

7:45am to 1pm
Afternoon sessions: 1pm to 5:45pm
Daily sessions:  7:45am to 5:45pm 
Hourly sessions:  Maximum of 2 hours per session 

The centre provides morning and afternoon tea and cooked midday meals for all children and can cater for allergies and special food requirements where possible.

$425 per week

All day session $85 per day
Morning session $45

Hourly care

$10 (max 2 hrs per session)

 LUNCH FEE - $1 (only applies to children booked in from 12pm)

Children 2yrs - over

Full time

 

$375 per week

All day session $75 per day
Morning session $45
Afternoon session $41
Hourly care $10 (max of 2 hrs per session)

Families may also be entitled to fee reductions in the form of a child care subsidy provided by the Family Assistance Office.

The centre is a non-profit. government subsidised centre. This means all money received from fees and grants is used to pay staff wages and cover operating costs.
